The Chicago Newborn
PHOTOGRAPHER

Frequently asked questions
Do you bring props?
I don’t bring any baskets, buckets, or other props of that nature to newborn sessions. But I do bring several neutral colored swaddles, outfits, bows, and onsies. Overall, I keep things pretty simple and minimal for a timeless look. I like to stick to a natural approach to newborn photography.
How far in advance do I need to book?
Most families book about 2-3 months in advance. I only take a limited number of due dates/ month to make sure I’ll have enough availability to offer you once your little one arrives. But if you’re hoping to book last minute feel free to reach out and I’d be happy to let you know what I still have available or refer you to one of my trusted photographers in the area.
What should I wear?
After you book you'll have access to my exclusive "what-to-wear" guide with lots of tips, ideas, and suggestions!
When is the best time for a maternity session?
I usually suggest planning your maternity session for about 32-34 weeks of pregnancy
When is the best time for a newborn session?
When it’s possible I usually aim to schedule your newborn session when your little one is about 7-14 days old. There is something so incredibly special and new about those first couple weeks home. But, that being said, I also frequently do newborn sessions with babies all the way up until 3 months old. It just all depends on what you’re most comfortable with!
How do you feel about pets?
As you can probably see from some of the photos in my gallery, I’m totally okay with pets and I love to incorporate pups into a couple of your family photos when we can!
Do you travel to the suburbs?
Yes! I travel to any of Chicago’s surrounding suburbs within a 30 mile radius.
What are your COVID precautions?
For the past several months I have been taking multiple COVID precautions in line with the CDC recommendations. My goal is to keep you and your littles as safe as possible during this difficult time. Here are some of the guidelines I have been following:
⁃ I wear a mask at all sessions the whole time and will keep my distance whenever possible.
⁃ I no longer offer back to back sessions and instead only take at most 1 family per day.
⁃ All adults and children over 2 are asked to wear masks whenever not being photographed.
⁃ All of my swaddles/photography gear is thoroughly washed and disinfected between each session.
In addition to these precautions I feel it’s worth mentioning that my family is also being very cautious in our own personal life.
